As of March 21, Xinjiang has processed 5.7457 million tons of lint, a record high in recent years. Although the output will increase significantly in 2020, the quality will be significantly lower than in previous years, mainly due to the large amount of water and impurities and the excessive pursuit of high clothing points.

　　 As spring sowing is approaching, some farmers in northern Xinjiang have not yet decided on the new cotton planting area. Due to the higher income from cotton planting last year, the enthusiasm of cotton farmers to plant cotton is still high this year. It is expected that cotton planting in Xinjiang this year will have the following two characteristics. One is the further popularization of mechanized production in Xinjiang; the other is that cotton quality will be improved. At present, cotton planting land is being transferred from scattered farmers to large cooperatives and groups. This not only increases the income of cotton farmers, but also improves the consistency of cotton. The selection, planting management, harvesting and sales of cotton are more standardized.
