How is SORONA fiber obtained?
SORONA fiber polymer is the latest advanced polymer platform launched by DuPont of the United States after more than sixty years of continuous innovation in fiber raw materials. SORONA fiber is derived from glucose obtained from corn. Under the action of genetically modified bacteria, it undergoes fermentation to generate PDO. After distillation, the PDO is purified and dehydrated. At this point, PDO appears to be a clear and slightly viscous liquid. Then, add an appropriate amount of terephthalic acid, and after the reaction, perform SORONA fiber sectioning to obtain it.
